Living in the City – When Housing Ceases to Be a Right
What if a city could be told through the stories of those who live in it?
After the performance, the stage becomes a space for dialogue to reflect on one of the most urgent issues of our time: the right to housing, life in neighbourhoods, and the building of more inclusive communities.
Taking the themes of the play “LOTE 19 – Happiness per Square Metre” as a starting point, this conversation is not only about the housing crisis, but above all about the ways in which access to a home affects dignity, mental health, human relationships and the building of community. The play is about homes, but, above all, it is about people.
From this perspective, the discussion brings together artists, researchers, architects and community representatives to think about the city beyond buildings and numbers. Because talking about housing means talking about belonging, neighbourhood, public space and inequality — but also about hope and the future.
A conversation open to everyone, because cities are built when we think about them together.
